Description

Our 5 favourites:

Is our tasting package with 10 different date varieties too much for your first time? No problem! Then we have the smaller sample with 5 different date varieties to make your choice easier. The Dattelmann sampler package gives you the opportunity to try our five main varieties: Sukari, Astaka, Medjool, Khidri and Safawi. Delicious to the power of five!

A brief overview of the date varieties included:

The royal dates – are cone-shaped with marked folds in their skin. Their color is a rich brown with golden-yellowish tones and they have a caramelised and fruity taste and a soft, silky aftertaste of honey.

Khidri, the “large, dark, and mysterious” dates, are known for their distinct deep chestnut red hue, uniform in color. They have a light and flaky skin and sweet, chewy flesh reminiscent of raisins, are moderately sweet and have a warm, intense aftertaste. Reboot your energy system with Khidri dates!

Our delicious Astaka dates are big and round with soft pulp and crispy skin. Their color ranges from dark yellow to brown. The brighter ones are more firm, fleshy, and crunchy, whereas the darker ones are much softer and creamy. Astaka are mild and silky in taste, and not too sweet. Since these are very fresh dates, they should always be stored in the freezer. Astaka taste great when frozen!

Medjool are very large dates. Their flesh is firmer and their skin thin. The dates are sweet and have a caramel flavour.

The dates are packed and shipped fresh from the palm tree.

Safawi dates have a beautiful dark brown colour. They are rather firm and have a fine taste, slightly reminiscent of coffee. Their aftertaste is not as sweet as other date varieties, which is why you can easily snack on quite a lot.

How should dates be stored and what’s the recommended serving temperature for dates?

Dates should always be stored in an airtight container so they don’t get dry. We recommend keeping the dates in the freezer whenever possible.
