Organic Freeze-dried Raspberry Powder
The raspberry powder is made from 100% ripe, freeze-dried raspberries. The particularly gentle freeze-drying process preserves the natural fruit-typical properties such as colour, smell and taste. The raspberry powder is dark red to wine-red in colour and tastes sour and fruity. It is very rich in fibre and is suitable for muesli and other mixtures and is also a super natural colouring for all dishes and drinks.
Most of our powders are 100% pure fruit and therefore some natural clumping and caking will occur. Some other powders can contain anti-caking agents such as maltodextrin. We prefer to supply a 100% fruit powder. These clumps do not affect the flavour or quality of the product. If necessary the powder can be passed through a sieve or broken down with the back of a clean spoon if you need to use it as a dry sprinkle.
The product may differ from the picture because it is a natural product so the color, taste and smell may depend on the delivery and the season of the year.
Freeze-dried powder/fruit – What’s so special about it?
Did you know that half a handful of freeze-dried fruit counts as a portion of fresh fruit? This can be attributed to the concentration of our freeze-dried fruits. In addition, they can be kept for a long time without refrigeration, convince with their almost unchanged ingredients, their delicious taste and are nevertheless free of additives.
How does freeze-drying work?
Freeze-drying is a particularly gentle preservation process. Our fruits are frozen directly after harvesting and then filled into a vacuum container. The resulting negative pressure causes the water to escape in the form of water vapour at sub-zero temperatures. The special thing about this process is that the intensive aroma, the natural colour and the high content of natural ingredients – including all vitamins – remain almost unchanged. And all this without adding any additives.
What is the best use for freeze-dried fruit/powder?
The whole pieces of freeze-dried fruit are great as a snack, but like the freeze-dried powder, they can also be used in a variety of ways in the kitchen. For example, in mueslis, yoghurts, desserts, porridges, baked goods or in smoothies, lemonades or teas to give the drink a fruity touch.
What is one of the biggest advantages of freeze-drying?
Because the water content of freeze-dried fruits is so low, they have a very long shelf life if stored correctly. Therefore, for long shelf life, it is important that they are placed in an airtight container as soon as possible after opening, which should be in as cool and dark a place as possible. Thus, freeze-dried fruits are, among other things, also a practical alternative when fresh products are not in season.
