Whole clear walnut kernels

Better tasting and crispier than ever – yes, these are our new clear nuts. Nuts have a distinctive taste. A popular brain food for young and old. Thanks to their deep nutty taste, nuts go very well with dates. But walnuts are also delicious in a versatile way as a crunch in a salad or crumbled on a soup. Our walnuts are of the highest quality and are therefore not broken, but whole.

Are nuts healthy?

Our nuts contain about 591 calories per 100 grams. Nuts are very high in mono- and polyunsaturated fatty acids. However, due to their fat content of over 60%, they are also very high in calories. Nuts also contain vitamin E. Nuts also contain B vitamins and valuable antioxidants.

You’ve probably heard that nuts are what we call “brain food”. But is this really true and where does it come from?

Indeed, it is true that eating nuts has a positive effect on our brain work. After eating nuts, a significant improvement in memory, learning ability, anxiety and even motor development has been observed. All this can be attributed to the aforementioned B vitamins, which are an ideal nervous food. They stimulate important brain functions and also have a preventive effect against irritability and lack of concentration.

In conclusion, it can be said that whether at school, university, during sports or at work, nuts can have a positive effect on our concentration and thus help us in one or another tense situation.

Where do nuts grow and when are they ripe?

The ripening period for walnuts is between the end of September and the end of October. The nuts grow on the walnut tree and fall off as soon as they are ripe.

Recipes with walnuts

As mentioned above, walnuts are also a great snack that acts as brain food. But that’s by far not all nuts can do. Among other things, they are also very popular in baking. Whether it’s banana bread with walnuts, apple walnut cake or Christmas cupcakes. In addition to sweet dishes, such as caramelized nuts, you can also easily use nuts as a topping for a salad, in a savory cake or as an accompaniment to a cheese board.
